The Christmas Rose china is elegant and timeless. I've had a set of this holiday china for more than a decade and have always received wonderful comments on it. Spode rereleased this Victorian pattern a number of years ago, so it is an authentic classic pattern. It's not cheap, but because of the design it has a bit more usefulness than many other "Christmas" china sets. The Christmas Rose is the common name for a Helleborus Niger, a much loved garden plant which produces a pure white flower that blooms for the Christmas season.
