These place settings are a great buy!We have owned ours (2)for over a year now.We have only had one small chip which is quite remarkable given that we use them for everyday dishes and have 2 small children. I searched for quite some time for a simple and classic pottery set - nothing caompared with these for the price.I have not had any problems with scratching of my table - but I do use placemats
