Review of Lenox Simply Fine Chirp 4-Piece Place Setting, Service for 1

We've just purchase two 4-piece settings of Lenox Chirp as a wedding gift for an older couple.The birds make a nice reference to a couple settling down together.It is lovely and we wish we could afford more settings. We like this pattern because the individual plates and bowls can be used as accent serving pieces to dress up a plain everyday table setting and the mug is a practical shape and size. The pattern is just beautiful and the colors are very rich. The plates feel very solid when held, not as if they may break if handled roughly. There are many additional pieces, giving us more opportunity over the years to give individual serving or ornamental pieces as additional gifts. It's been a very popular pattern for Lenox, so we hope it won't be discontinued quickly. We did find that the linens that are available to go with the setting are of a fussy material, a little shiny and slick.
