I bought these to compliment my basic cherry red 4 piece set. Although it came with cereal bowls, I wanted something casual to serve pasta or stew but did not want the huge pasta bowls. These are the perfect size and the color is a perfect match.

I absolutely love the shape and size of these latte cups. The waechtersbach colors are wonderful and blueberry is no exception. Myhusband, however, does prefer the more squared mug.He says it feels more stable to him.I prefer the grip and shape of the latte cup.

FIRST OF ALL, I LOVE THE CORELLE COLLECTION.I HAVE TWO BOYS WHO ARE 19 AND 20 AND EAT ALL DAY AND NIGHT.IT'S NICE KNOWING THAT I DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT CHIPPING PLATES AND BOWLS. I JUST WISH THAT THE MUGS WERE ALSO CHIP RESISTANT.THE PATTERN IS JUST WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR. IT'S VERY HARD TO FIND THAT COLOR WHICH IS A DEEP BURGANDY WITH A SLIGHTLY OFF-WHITE BASE.IT'S VERY RICH LOOKING YET CAN BE USED EVERYDAY. ALSO, THE PRICE WAS REASONABLE. I LOVE IT.

Review of Villeroy & Boch French Garden Dinner Plates

I ordered 4 dinner plates and 3 of the 4 were broken. I mean not like a crack but in a million pieces. These plates are beautiful and fantastic, but I recommend ordering them from somewhere else. The plates are a 5 and Amazon shipping is a 1. I also ordered the cereal bowls, and 2 of the 4 of those were also broken. These were in a different shipment, too. I had much better luck ordering directly from the Villeroy and Boch site.

Those dishes are on the bigger side. The plates are larger than usual, the bowls are huge and the mugs make a drink last forever.

BUT they are beautiful!!!! I love those dishes. I started collecting this model by buying the serving dishes, then I got the 12 service set. It is a nice addition on the table when you have guests, but for every day use, it might be just too large.

It comes in 3 boxes, each box has a service of 4. You get a box, with a box inside it, with the actual Pfaltzgraff box inside it. It is very carefully packed, but just too much recyclable stuff. Our can was full very quickly.

It is dishwasher and microwave safe. I love this set.

Review of Le Souk Ceramique 12 inch Cookable Tagine, Black

I recently purchased this at a gourmet grocery store in their culinary arts section.I contacted the maker (Souk Ceramique) and received an email right away.They told me that it does not have a hole because it is a hand-thrown clay piece.The manufactured ones need holes because their tops sit on their bases tightly and the hole is necessary for steam to vent.In a hand-thrown tagine, the steam can vent around the base.Also, to season it - soak it overnight in water.Then allow it to dry, coat the inside with olive oil, and put in a cold oven.Heat the oven to 350 degrees and allow the tagine to heat with it and then leave it for an hour and a half to two hours in there.Don't put it in cold water while it is hot.Let it cool down on its own.If it isn't used often, it should be re-seasoned every few months.I've read variations on the seasoning, but that is the best that I can find for now (some said soak it for one hour in water - other sites said 4 hours).I was impressed by the prompt and helpful reply from customer service, and I like the product.The company truly tries to keep the old world alive through its authentic tagines.

The Christmas Rose china is elegant and timeless. I've had a set of this holiday china for more than a decade and have always received wonderful comments on it. Spode rereleased this Victorian pattern a number of years ago, so it is an authentic classic pattern. Review of Lenox Pearl Innocence Platinum-Banded Fine China 5-Piece Place Setting, Service for 1

My husband and I chose this china pattern for our wedding registry and think the pattern is absolutely gorgeous. However, I have had unsuccessful attempts to order this product through Amazon. I originally ordered 4 place settings and when they arrived two were broken due to the poor packaging. Amazon's customer service was quick to replace them but believe it or not, I received 2 place settings today -- one of which was the incorrect pattern and broken as well. Amazon refunded my money but I guess it was a lesson learned. I orignially registered for this pattern through Macy's and every place setting I received through them have been perfect - nothing broken. It's unfortunate Amazon couldn't do the same. The price is very reasonable but as their customer service rep said today, they cannot keep sending the same product and risking breakage. On a side note, I don't believe it was the shipping that resulted in the damage. The boxes of china were placed loosely in the shipping box with the minimal sheets of bubble wrap. Macy's shipped theirs in much larger boxes with the peanuts and they were much more secure. Maybe Amazon will review how they package their items for shipping and provide a better product to the next person. I, however, will not order from Amazon again. Two times is enough.

Review of Hagerty 19771 China Storage Set of 5, Blue

This is one of those items that, 'you get what you pay for'.The pricing for these china keepers is totally reasonable, but the quality is not that great... and the dividers are not sufficient for good china (they are small pieces of packaging foam - not fabric).

If you're on a tight budget - this stuff is fine.

If I were to do it again, I would spend a bit more for better quality!

Review of Pfaltzgraff Filigree 20-Piece Stoneware Dinnerware Set, Service for 4

I have had my Filigree set for 12 years now.It is rather sturdy considering I now have three children that are 7 (twins) and 8.It is not chip resistant nor unbreakable like Corelle so if that is what you are looking for, buy Corelle.Also if you have had Corelle in the past, these plates and bowls take up more room.I have a few pieces with chips, but they were rather hard hits to get them to chip.It does show some silver/gray marks from silverware.I am careful what I place next to them in the dishwasher as marks from pans will happen if they touch/rub during the dishwasher cycle.Overall I was looking for a dinnerware set that had more "character" than Corelle and would go with any table linens and this is the set.

I have about 9 of these place settings right now and plan on continuing to collect them. They are simply beautiful and of a very high quality. Each shipment I have recieved has arrived in great condition and as pretty as the last. The packaging is fantastic- there is no way they can get damaged in shipment. The only gripe I have is that is takes a very long time to get the items. Ive been waiting on a shipment for several weeks now and they still havn't shipped out. But in my opinion they are worth the wait!!! I always recieve compliments on what a beautiful set of china this is. I've been very happy with mine.

The ONLY thing I can complain about is I think $79 for a 4 serving set of corelle is a little salty (I needed 2 sets)Not the typical $40 you'd pay for most corelle sets.HOWEVER,they are thicker, the mugs are bigger and much heavier and nicer, so I guess I shouldn't complain too much.I guess I was just a bit surprised.Some people have 2 sets of dishes, one for everyday and 1 for special occassions.I'll not only use these for every day, but for guests as well.So, if you look at it like that, they are the perfect all around dishes. The bottom line is, I love them, and I'd buy them again even for the price.

These place settings are a great buy!We have owned ours (2)for over a year now.We have only had one small chip which is quite remarkable given that we use them for everyday dishes and have 2 small children. I searched for quite some time for a simple and classic pottery set - nothing caompared with these for the price.

I have not had any problems with scratching of my table - but I do use placemats

My husband and I originally received 4 sets of this from Hudsons/Marshall Fields/ Macys for our wedding in 2004, and couldn't pass up the great deal on Amazon for about 1/3 the price our guests bought it for!We've used it at least a dozen times and always get complements on the beautiful blue color and silver key pattern on the plate (it has sliver trim around edges as well).

Anyway, although it says dishwasher safe on the back of the plate, we wash them by hand.Also, due the the silver design, we do not use them in the microwave, either.I have put the plates in the oven on warm, and they've been fine.After 3 years they still look brand new.Utensils and knives have not scratched the surface at all.

The only thing I don't like is the dinenr plate is very flat, so if you have something juicy on it (think turkey with gravy), and it is near the edge of the plate, you are most likely going to have a little mess on the tablecloth.

I would definitely recommend this product to someone looking for beautiful formal china.

This is my third set of Pfaltzgraff dishes.The quality is good and the price reasonable.They are old-fashioned looking and all the pieces are just a little different in design (stripes on the bowls, plaid on the salad plates, and a whimsical edging containing apple-related items on the dinner plates) adding to their charm.The dishes were shipped quickly, packaged well and arrived with nothing broken.Pfaltzgraff dishes last for years and you can easily find replacement pieces when you accidentally break or chip something.

I'm a big Corelle fan. I use it for my everyday dishes. It's lightweight, durable (with 2 young kids)and comes in lots of patterns. Wanted something new to replace my existing set and went with Chrysanthemum. What a beautiful set. I ordered 2 sets. They arrived together and to my disappointment one box had 2 shattered dinner plates and 2 broken mugs, while the other box was fine. The box with the damaged goods had been shipped on its side, while the other lay flat. This probably attributed to the damage. If shipping had marked the box "fragile", this might have helped. Any way, I e-mailed Amazon about my situation and received a quick response. They were replacing my broken set with a new one! I couldn't be happier with Amazon customer service.And, I love my new dishes!

Review of Churchill China Finlandia 20-Piece Dinnerware Set, Service for 4

This Service for 4 set is made in England and of excellent quality.

The Service for 8 set made in Columbia is crap. Really.

Buy two of this service for 4 instead.

They're probably the best quality you can buy while still being dishwasher, microwave and freezer safe, in a pattern that's been in production since 1992 by Churchill. The author of the drab looking book "Microwave Cooking for One" has done a huge lot of work providing links to all the amazon dinnerware that is dishwasher safe in hopes of selling more copies of her book, including indexing *everying* Finlandia on amazon better than amazon has. Smart people will save time looking her up.

You'll have to decide if you want to risk the Columbia made teapot from amazon or go elsewhere for the real English deal.

If you're scarfing these up because of the price, search also for "Oneida service 12" --usually when these plates go on sale amazon also is running some very good deals on some really great quality flatware sets as well.

You also may be interested in Suzanne Von Drachenfels's book "The Art of the Table" (fun!) and Ruth L. Kern's DVD "Manners for the Table".

This Corelle set is lovely, almost Italian in style.It's also very inexpensive.The only thing that truly disappointed me upon opening the box was that the cups are stoneware, not traditional "Livingware."As a result, I'm already short one cup, which shattered after hitting the floor.I do not understand why the cups weren't made out of the same material as the dishes and bowls.Other than that, the dishes are light, attractive, stack easily in the dishwasher, and fit well in the cupboard.

I ordered 2 of these packet sugar caddy pieces. One in orange and the other one in yellow (my husband and I use different brands of sweeteners). And not to mention the nicely smooth vitrified ceramic look that brings out the colors more vividly, I was also pleased to verify that each caddy can hold about 40 packets of sweetener!
I'm so happy I've found these. I was so sick of those clear glass ones that you see in every caffeteria/restaurant out there. Got them quickly too! Now I'm sold for the Fiestaware Collection, have to get me some other pieces...

This is your basic classic Blue Italian Spode.The same stuff your mother, your grandmother, your great-grandmother etc collected and used on special occasions.The only difference is that it has been updated to be dishwasher and microwave safe.I don't know if the old stuff was also dishwasher and microwave safe and they just added the new stamp, or if they did something to its composition.But it works well.Just be sure to not use a real strong detergent.I did and saw some fading (on lots of other stuff too-that stuff took designs off glasses and other plates).Since switching to a "regular" detergent I have had no problems.
