The Mikasa Antique White set is made of fine china instead of the more fragile stoneware of the Mikasa French Countryside set, available for the same price. The pattern is the same, so do not confuse them (Amazon.com has switched the descriptions for these two dinnerware sets).Mikasa makes Antique White dinnerware out of its "Ultima +" brand of fine china (supposedly very strong), and describes it as oven, freezer, dishwasher and microwave safe.
I have just received the Antique White 45 piece set (8 place settings with teacups and a serving set) well packed and intact, and will update this review should it not perform up to expectations.
Note: I recently saw the same set at the same price in my local Macy's.
