This set says it's made in England. IT IS NOT. It's made in Columbia.As for the quality, shame, shame, shame.I am so disappointed.Many of the pieces have faded colors, and very noticable.I am too embarrassed to use this setting, the faded coloring is that noticable.I hate to have to return a HUGE, HEAVY box!But I will.I wonder if I'll order anything but books and music from this site.The only reason I went with this set was from the rave reviews it got.

Review of Cuisinart Crimson 16-Piece Dinnerware Set

This set of dishes is very attractive. The red isn't too bright, the black lines are crisp, and the design isn't too busy. The plates, bowls and mugs are all of a good size, though real coffee fiends will find themselves needing a second cup or a spare mug of their own. Each piece is a little heavier than I expected; just enough to give the bowls and mugs some stability.

My set has a few minor bumps in the glazing here and there, none of which are particularly noticeable. The biggest gripe I can level against this set is that the mugs will not stack at all -- not even just two together -- which makes conserving cupboard space a problem. I have two sets, so I've put half the mugs on a high, unused shelf to keep them out of the way.

Altogether, these are great dishes, I'm pleased with them, and I would recommend them to anyone that likes the pattern.

This was my second choice for a Pfaltzgraff pattern and I'm glad this is the one I got!!! The Napoli dinner plates were too large for my cabinets but these fit perfectly. They are definitely dishwasher safe, everyone comments on what a great set I have. Just couldn't be happier. The variation of pattern throughout the different pieces instead of each and every piece being exactly the same color and pattern is what I like most. I also ordered the service for 8 and quite a few extra pieces like bowls, sugar & creamer set, etc. Love them all.

The best present ever! Classic Portmeirion quality, in a simple/timeless pattern. The glasses (made in china) are rather thin but look nicer "in person."
Be aware that you might not get the same rose image in all three pieces (plates and bowl), it seems to be random which ones are included in the set. sadly, i only recieved one Scarborough Fair plate out of two sets. Plus, the serving platter included with the second set turned out to be from the botanic garden line rather than botanic roses (ordered from amazon).

I love this Waechtersbach dinnerware, but Amazon shows a cereal bowl in the picture, and says in the description that the set includes the cereal bowl, but that is not true. The set includes a 8 1/2 inch soup plate, NOT a cereal bowl. Both picture and description are wrong! I also ordered some of the individual place settings, and they also have the soup plate, not the cereal bowl as pictured. So the dinnerware gets 5 stars, but Amazon gets 1 star for not having the correct picture and description.

Review of Corelle Lifestyles 16-Piece Dinnerware Set, Service for 4, Rola

Ordered three sets of this dishware. Two sets arrived OK. One in little itsy bitsy pieces. Drove home the point that Corelle is only break RESISTANT. Although to be fair, it was packed VERY poorly by Amazon. The UPS guy just shook his head. Amazon replaced the box promptly.

Pleased with the dishes. Neat pattern and it was nice to retire our kids plastic dishes with nice looking adult dishes that we don't have to worry about.

One caveat about the dishes. They look great but they are THIN. Some people may not like this appearance. Corelle now has a variety of dishware with more traditional thickness. One plus, they stack very tightly.

The coffee mugs are standard stoneware, so don't plan on watching them bounce off the floor if you drop one. Not a big deal, unless your kids drink lots of coffee :-).

Two of the dinner plates had pattern defects. Contacted Corelle and they said they will replace them ASAP. Maybe they are still working out the production glitches with their new line?

Overall a good purchase.

I have had this set for several years and they have been great. I do want to warn anyone that is as picky as I am that the color is much brighter in the picture than what they really are. They are a softer color, which I think looks better in real life than how it appears in the picture. The mug is more like a light country blue and the rest of the design follows suit.

This is beautiful, heavy earthenware, and really chip resistant. Great for everyday use. Lead free glaze means you can use it in the oven and microwave (to 480-degrees). It's much prettier than the pictures. I bought the individual sets (4-piece dinner plates, salad plates, etc.) because Amazon had a better deal buying them that way than the complete set. I was able to get a service for 12 for just over $100. Now the prices are back up but keep watching because they change every day. They were packed really well, not one broken piece. If the other reviews I've read about Caleca dinnerware are true, this set will last for years to come.

I bought the Mahogany Pointe set, It is as pictured, they are a little on the heavy side but seem to be built well, They do not get hot in the microwave, like other sets of dishes(different brands) Which is very important. I have been burned by other brands many times. I love these, I just hope I can find serving dishes and glasses to complement these beautiful dinner place settings.

I just wanted to write and say that I love the new Corelle Camellia dishes I received (picked out!) for my birthday. My mom and sister and I went to a Corningware/Corelle Outlet Store and purchased two sets for me for my birthday. They are lightweight, pretty, practical, and easy to take care of. The flower pattern is so pretty. I like the dish and cup patterns better than around the bowls, but, oh, well, I can live with it. At the Tanger outlet in Riverhead, NY, we purchased each set of 16 pcs for a sale price of $39.99! They list everywhere else for $69.99. There is not one thing wrong with them and are not seconds, so shop around before you buy. I was surprised to see them at Walmart for $59!
Corelle lasts forever, so I am sure to enjoy them for a long time.

I needed a buffet set for 20 for the holidays.Unfortunately, I purchased all of the serving pieces and the place settings at one time.I would say that these looked like "seconds" with pock marks on more than half of the dinner and salad plates along with little black flecks. The salt and pepper shakers did not have the holes pierced all the way through.The bakeware lids did not fit properly and were "out of round".The gravy boat's opening was so narrow that a spoon wouldn't fit through the opening.Also, 2 of the bowls arrived broken.I would avoid buying this product.

Review of Caleca Chili Peppers 16-Piece Dinnerware Set, Service for 4

I bought these for everyday use along with some extra pieces. They are very well made. The bottom rims are not finished (like other Italian dishes I have bought in the past) over with glaze so the fired clay rim on the bottom will scratch the other plates if you slide them around on the finished surfaces. Excellent colors and fun to use-and the prices at Amazon make them available for poor folk like me. For larger families with children these should work really well because currently one can buy extra plates & such at a very low price-for future breakage.

Another thing I really liked was the very reasonably priced pitcher. I didn't need or want a pitcher for liquids and I knew it would make a perfect kitchen utensil holder. It does. Any of the Pinzon/Caleca pitchers in any collection will make a perfect ceramic utensil bin for your kitchen stuff. More attractive than most utensil holders made for that purpose and also less expensive & better quality than most.

I've sently purchased 3 boxes of the Loft china. I love it, it's a good classic design. But beware that the bigger plates might not fit your dishwasher or your cubords. It didn't fit our normal cuboards in our case. Luckly we could free up some space in our corner cabinet. But when you're having a dinner for a few people I'm sure you'd prefer if they fit in the dishwasher. So measure first, and maybe consider buying the pieces separatly so that you can choose a smaller since on the dinner plates.

This is a fairly good starter set for peeps who dig heavy-duty, all-purpose restaurant or Bistro ware.It's inexpensive.Its high-gloss glaze is easy to clean.It isn't as apt to chip or break as standard china.The true meaning of "oven to table," it can also be employed to reheat foods.The thick porcelain retains the heat a long time, keeping foods warm.But don't push it; I had a small plate eventually crack at 375 degrees F. using it several times to hold up a roasting chicken.Still, this beats our expensive Mikasa oven-to-table, which shattered during the first attempt. (Much easier to clean than wire roasting racks; simply place saucer or dessert plate upside-down in baking pan.)What makes this restaurant ware so heavy and durable is not only its thickness, but a higher percentage of metallic minerals in the clay.So it is literally made of metal. Our main complaint is that the place setting consists of only the minimum number of pieces, there aren't many assessories, and it's hard to match exactly unless you know a good restaurant supply house.Therefore it's more suitable for mix-and-match, not really bad considering it goes with most bright white, narrow-rim or white and colored china, even the prissy Portmeirion Botanic Garden.We got ours from another mail-order catalog and it is slightly irregular, especially the latte mugs, which really require saucers (not included) cuz half of them tend to tip over.The bowls are pasta-type and a nice size, but we prefer an 8 1/2-inch salad plate.

We purchased this complete set since has a very attractive and colorful pattern.Unfortunately, the set suffers in two huge respects.First, the sizes of plates, bowls, etc., are out of the ordinary.The plates are either too small, or too large and heavy.Older folks will have problems picking up the large dinner plate.Second, and more importantly, this collection is totally unmicrowaveable.No, they will not break, but they will heat up to above boiling temperature and immediately blister your skin if touched. If you need a dinner set that goes into the microwave, this certainly is not it.

Overall, I give the set a 9 on looks, a 5 on usefulness, and a 2 on microwave compatibility. Please check this set out in person at a local store to evaluate for yourself before ordering just from pictures.

I have had Corelle Livingware dishes for almost 15 years and I was tired of the pattern.My set was still a complete set.So I packed up my "old" pattern, gave it to my sister, and ordered new.These seem to be up to the standards of my old set, and look so pretty on my table.

I recommend these as an everyday set to anyone looking for new dishware.

I am very happy with my new set.(I purchased 2 so would have a service for 8).Am now getting the serving pieces to go with it.

This dinnerware is durable and performs well.It is not nearly as pretty as the Wedgewood white china I was using previously, but it doesn't break or chip as easily in everyday use.The cereal bowl that comes with the 16-piece Impressions dinnerware set is on the small side, and therefore not very useful.I added a set of the soup plates/pasta bowls in the same pattern to get soem larger bowls.Amazon did not sell these pieces, so I had to look elsewhere on the Internet.

First of all, I looked for these plates everywhere online and Amazon had the best deal on them for $59.99 a set and free shipping.I ordered 3 sets and even with the Super Saver shipping I received them in a couple of days.Out of the 48 pieces I ordered, only 2 arrived broken.Two of my mugs arrived with broken handles.The mugs are porcelain, not Vitrelle like the rest of the set, and are therefore more fragile.I am very happy with the looks of my new dinneware.The bowls and mugs are larger than most that come with a set.The plates are also big; we have been using the lunch plates most of the time since the dinner plates are pretty oversized.I didn't pursue replacing the brokem mugs since I don't really need 12 anyway but Corelle does have a warrenty on the product for a year.Overall I am happy with the set - great price and you get the durable, light pieces Corelle is known for with a stylish look that I woulndn't have expected from this brand.

I've been living with dishes from the 99 cent store and thrift stores (hey, I live alone, I'm a clutz and don't want to feel bad if they break, and I use paper plates anyway...) I finally decided to get something nice since relatives are visiting (OK, I'm showing off, their kitchen looks just like mine did before this shopping trip).I've always admired Corelle, but never got any.I looked on line and found that even though the manufacturer seems permanently stuck in the 1960-70's as far as most of the designs, somebody in the company actually learned it is 2007 and designed a few pieces that look fabulous and modern.

I strongly recommend that you look in the stores (although Corelle is hard to find)before you pick a pattern.I was going with Simple Lines and hadn't even considered Kobe, but when I saw and compared it was no contest!

WalMart was $49.99 for the sixteen piece set and on line and at Target, etc. same thing is $69.99 up to $85.99 (plus shipping if you get on line, plus sending anybroken pieces back, etc.)One of the boxes in the store "rattled" like some pieces were broken, and one of the cups in the two sets Ibought was nicked and I'll have to return it, but I didn't really care about the cups a lot anyway, they just came with the dishes and bowls. The dishes look and feel great and wash up PERFECT!I expect raves from my guests and am actually trying to find another pattern called Cherry Blossom that is also in the square plate style.Looks very elegant as well as casual depending on the setting/placemat.

Review of Corelle Livingware 16-Piece Dinnerware Set, Service for 4, Chocolate Mint

Okay, I decided to write a review about this particular design of Corelle because there was one flaw!!

The ACTUAL color of the designs on the plates are much lighter than pictured here. I thought this was a good mix of masculine and femanine (definitely refreshing compared to all the florals this company usually has) and was totally in love with the darker colors.

However, upon receiving these plates, the colors are really more pastel and "girly". The dark lines are a lighter brown- but look almost black in this picture. Mine also have a few 'mistakes' in the pattern- smudges and things. This could be due to the fact that this is a brand new design and all the kinks haven't been worked out yet.

So, if you get over the color issues these really are fantastic plates. I grew up with Corelle plates and was looking forever for a modern and fresh design. After about 12 years my mother decided to get rid of her/our set because she was sick of them! Not one plate broke. Even after being dropped and banged into things multiple times. So the plates outlived her desire to have them. They never scratch and are so functional and pratical that it is unbelievable. Just find a design you really like because you won't ever have to get rid of these! No chipping, no scarring, and they always look as if you just bought them. Even years and years later. Great for every day use especially in a family full of kids.

In the end I decided to keep the two sets of this design I ordered and it has grown on me. It is a great design, but would be better if the color was bolder as it is in the image here. I love the fact that this set came with mugs...but realize that they are stoneware and not the same material as the plates so they probably won't last as long. I wish they would offer luncheon plates in this design too!

Review of Mikasa Italian Countryside 16-Piece Dinnerware Set, Service for 4

I loved my Italian Countryside set when it arrived, the neutral color without being totally plain was exactly what I wanted, having gotten tired of blue stoneware that clashed dreadfully at the holidays. I unpacked them and washed them and got ready to put them away... and HELLO... the dinner plate won't fit in my older style 12" upper cabinet!! I was standing in the kitchen ready to cry because I thought I was going to have to send them back until my handy husband was able to rout out the back of the cabinet door enough to let them fit. The plates stick out just far enough that the door wasn't closing, so measure your cupboards before ordering. Other than that I like the set very much. A few small flaws in the glaze on the back of the dinner and salad plates but none on the upper surface. I also love having so many other pieces available in the pattern. I am also quite happy that my very hard on the dinnerware husband has not broken or chipped a single dish yet. That is testament to the dishes not to his being more careful!

I had the same white dinning ware over 14 years. Corelle are so good that they last very long so, you have to be very careful when choosing the pattern. Anyway, mine was plain white and I decided to change. I was sure I was going to go for Corelle again and it was really hard to find a pattern without flowers.I am so happy I chose this one.I get into good mood every time I open my kitchen counter.I also love that they come with mugs instead of cups. After I bought it I realized I never used the cups of my previous set.

My finace and I bought these dishes for our 'first set' when we moved in together, however they have become treasured pieces that we hope to have for a long time. The pattern is beautiful, durable and elegant. They clean up in the dishwasher really well. The dinner plates are a good size and also have a small lip on them to prevent sauces from over-flowing onto the table. The lunch/dessert plates are also great for kids who don't eat as much. My only complaint would be that I wish it came with mugs instead of tea cups and saucers, because we prefer mugs. Although the tea cups came in handy when we dyed easter eggs! and they didn't stain either! Really great, don't hesitate to get them.

Review of Gibson Claremont 20 pc Dinnerware Set

These dishes just arrived and, while they are great looking, they are different than what was depicted on amazon. The teacups and bowls have pedestal feet. This wouldn't matter except I purchased the larger, 46 piece set to go with it, and the design for that set is exactly what was pictured. No pedestal feet. I will keep these because I do like them, but what I had intended to end up with was a complete set for 10, all alike. What I got was a set for 6, and a slightly different set for 4.

Review of Pfaltzgraff Verona 16-Piece Dinnerware Set, Service for 4

I purchased the "Verona" pattern of Pfalzgraff dinnerware just a month or two ago. This is not the old sturdy Pfalzgraff we all remember. Pfalzgraff is now made in China and no where near the quality it used to be. The first time in the dishwasher, one of my bowls chipped and one got a scratch. The bowls and the cups are so big and awkwardly shaped that they do not fit properly in the dishwasher. I ended up having to wash the bowls and cups by hand.

Bought 3 sets on sale. Some arrived broken. Thanks UPS.

The glazing on these don't match very nicely, especially between the bowls and plates. The glazing is misaligned as well on some pieces.

The mugs are huge (bad) and the bowls are too (yes). Plates are good size but the border section is too large and I think they'll quickly become scratched and unsightly. I was hoping to replace my Pfaltzgraff with this stuff but Mikasa is not up to snuff. Also keep in mind there are no matching serving pieces available for these.
