Review of Mikasa French Countryside 5-Piece Place Setting, Service for 1

I've owned many sets of dishes in my time (as my husband will attest!).Some I purchased because they had a lovely pattern, some because they were "elegant", some to take the "wear and tear" of everyday life and of course, one set because it was inexpensive (cheap, actually).They all, eventually, made their way into the Goodwill box.Today I own Mikasa French Countryside.When I went shopping for yet another set of dishes, I decided to find one that had a great pattern, was elegant, was sturdy enough for everyday wear and tear and was relatively inexpensive.Lo and behold!I came across French Countryside and my heart was sold! This pattern is simple, and the solid white is plain, yet can be enhanced by cloth and napkins for any given holiday.The additional serving pieces are "lifesized" but not fragile.They bear up under the stress of the dishwasher, but most of all, I love the versatility! With the Holidays coming up, I can set a beautiful Thanksgiving table using fall colors of gold, tan and cream.For Christmas, the cloth is white or green, the napkins green and red plaid! (Beautiful with Winterberry accessories!) My table is very elegant when set with gold candlesticks, a crystal bowl of brightly colored Xmas balls, a crisp white tablecloth and red and gold cloth napkins! French Countryside is truly a "set for all seasons"!It will be the last set of dishes I own!
