There is something satisfying about eating a meal off of beautiful dishes. This was the first real china I ever bought and I spent a lot of time looking around first.A wonderful department store sales lady steered me towards these ("Petit Fleur pattern is guaranteed to be in production for the next gazillion years and don't think that doesn't matter") and away from the Portmeirion ("only if you like chipped dishes").These are surprisingly durable and I never get tired of the simple pattern.Villeroy & Boch is not bargain basement stuff but it looks like Amazon has good deals.
