Review of Corelle Ultra 16-Piece Set, Service for 4, Blanc

I received a set of white Corelle given as a wedding gift 20 years ago and originally thought, "how boring".But as much as I thought about replacing them over the years, I was reluctant to give up the advantages of Corelle:the compactness, durability, and ability to take it from microwave to dishwasher.Since my family almost literally flings dishes into the sink, I can testify that they do not chip and scratch.The dishes have accumulated a few rust? like stains on the rims over the years but we have almost every piece intact.This set has the advantages of Corelle but has a traditional dinnerware look and feel because of the thickness and shape.It is simple, beautiful, and I can mix this with my formal set if I have lots of people over.The mugs are attractive enough but are not made of the same material (ceramic rather than glass); they are heavy, large and take up a lot of space--in short, display none of the advantages of Corelle and this is why I give the set 4 stars.
