Review of Jaya Biodegradable Knife/Fork/Spoon Combo Pack, 250-Count Case

I first tried this biodegradable cutlery when I was in the Whole Foods market eating area.I liked them so much, that I asked the deli workers if they knew who made this product-- but nobody seemed to know.I am glad I found them online, and on Amazon, my favorite online store.Before purchasing this, I wasn't clear if 250 count meant 250 total or 250 sets of forks, spoons, knives.After receiving the shipment, I am glad to tell you that it is 250 SETS of cutlery-- so 750 pieces total.Each set is wrapped individually, in a plastic-looking wrap.I'm not sure if the wrap itself is plastic (as that would defeat the point of biodegradable cutlery), but I think I remember reading somewhere that the wrap is also biodegradable.I will update this review if I find out differently.Also, I checked elsewhere online and found that the cutlery is made of potato starch.(No, it won't spoil.)It is heatsafe to 170 degrees Fahrenheit (not 200, as listed).I have used the cutlery for eating hot soup, and didn't have a problem with it.I have read that in very hot items, the cutlery can get soft, but won't melt into the food (although it wouldn't be toxic anyway).But after it is taken out of heat, it will harden again.

I am really happy with this product, and find them a great alternative to plasticware.Since I'm just a run-of-the-mill consumer, I don't know if this product will just biodegrade in the garbage.I know it's supposed to be compostable (so you can compost it if you have a composter or a backyard compost pile), but since I am just a student living in a little apartment, I am just throwing them in the regular garbage.When I find out more about this, I will update my review.

Review of Mikasa Italian Countryside White Stoneware Salt and Pepper Set

How does one praise a salt and pepper shaker? I guess by pointing out the fact that this set is elegant without being gaudy and is very practical also. Both are heavy and well designed not to mention they hold more then a grain of seasoning each as some elegant salt and pepper shakers do. My wife and I both enjoy having them grace our table. A set well worth owning.

Penney.This was the best neutral pattern that we found, and the salad/accent plates are gorgeous.It cleans easy and isn't too heavy.Since this is a white china, you can dress it up to match any table decor.We use ours about once a week so that we can have one sit-down dinner together.I think hand washing is recommended by Noritake.

I love this dinnerware and the simplicity of the design!It's so versatile.I use it daily.The cherry red color is so right for special occasions and perfect for Valentine's Day and Christmas also.The mugs of both the regular shape and the cafe latte are balanced well and so easy to hold.I was first introduced to this dinnerware while house & pet sitting for a family when they were on vacation.They have a decades older version of this design that was made in Spain and it has a bit more of an orange-red color.I just had to have it also and was not at all disappointed when I discovered that the current color is a true red.I can't understand why another person said that hers crazed.I even use mine in the microwave and have never had a problem with crazing.I doubt that you will be disappointed if you order this dinnerware.

We got these plates (along with dinner plates and bowls) to replace another set that didn't hold up well. These are substantial - but not too heavy. They do not get hot in the microwave, like some other plates I've had. The rim is nice because if you have something with sauce, it stays put on the plate. I haven't had them long so I can't say how they hold up, but for now, I really like them and am happy with my purchase.

I love Stalkmarket products. We get the plates, the larger bowls, and these delivered regularly. These bowls have become a staple in my kitchen because they are the perfect size for so many things. They are ideal for dips, salsa, preparing ingredients, skimming fat off the top of broths, and cat food- especially on-the-go. I travel a good bit with our kitten and these bowls are the perfect size for her. I just empty her Fancy Feast into it or pour some water or dry kitten chow into them and she is all set!

I fell for it's contemporary look and risked buying a 20-piece set witout seeing it outside. I was skeptical about my purchase until I received. I took this risk with the confidence that iittala makes very high quality products.

My trust on iittala brand turned out true. These are great piece of flatware which can't be matched by anything we see in most local department stores. We immediately returned the Villeroy and Boch New Wave Flatware set we got from Bloomingdales as it pales (in a very big way) in comparison to this. Frankly, these two shouldn't even be compared. That's how good the build quality is of this set. The stainless steel has some special kind of shine that makes it look very attractive and at the same time very unique. These pieces are very heavy and feel very good in hand.

We liked them so much that we are now looking into adding more of iittala brand items to our kitchen and home decor.

But what spoon is? Rounded size, holds good volume, may bend but it wont brake, bend it back the way it was and away you go. I have not used the fork or the knife but in my opinion of the spoon it should replace all disposable spoons everywhere.

I was so disappointed to receive this item broken on the initial shipment - then when it was shipped the second time, it was broken also.Whoever packaged it for shipping did not pack it properly - just threw it in a box and sent it on it's way.Then the thing that really bothered me - they informed me they couldn't provide a replacement.It was a gift, and the person was really disappointed.(this was three weeks later)

These dishes turned out to be perfect for our house in the mountains.The color was deeper than it appeared on my monitor, but that was no problem.The plates are quite large and heavy.They do fine in the dishwasher and in the microwave.

Review of Fresh Vac 6-pc. Rectangle Container Set with Crisper

I stumbled across these food savers a few weeks ago, and thought I would give them a try.I have been absolutely amazed at their fresh-keeping qualities.I kept some sliced peppers for well over 2 weeks, just as fresh as the day they were sliced.I have had a bag of spinach in them for almost 2 weeks, and it looks as though I just took it out of the bag.I am now this product's biggest fan - in that my vegetables don't get slimy before I can get a chance to use them!!

My only reason for not giving the full five stars is that the packaging says they are easily dishwasher safe.I have not yet been able to figure out how to get the valve seal separated to allow the lid to go into the dishwasher - so I have washed the lids by hand.

Review of iittala 8-Inch Glass Jar

I wrote the following review of the Sea Blue jars, but I am posting it here, since it may help someone considering the Blueberry Blue jars.

Okay, these are extremely pricey for storing food and very fragile (I very lightly brushed one of the lids against something and now it has a small hairline crack - if you have children, you probably don't want these in your kitchen).

You don't really need these, but if you are into kitchen decor, I can tell you that they are breathtakingly beautiful.I have the Sea Blue, but I would guess that the other colors are just as nice.The Sea Blue has an ethereal feel and really does invoke the sea.

I have the jars in all three sizes.The large ones are perfect for storing pasta, soba and udon.The medium are great for storing dried seaweed (which fits very well with the ethereal ocean quality of the Sea Blue color), grains, rice, etc.The small ones are nice for small quantities of dried beans, thickeners, etc.

I looked high and low for kitchen canisters before buying these and I really like the fact that they are elongated rather than wide - you can line up more of these on a kitchen counter than you could of a typical canister, which seems to very squat.Ironically, my second favorite storage jars after these pricey ones are the dirt cheap glass Martha Stewart canisters at K-Mart.Since I have limited cabinet space in my kitchen and store a lot of food on the kitchen counter, I've mixed and matched these jars with the Martha Stewart glass jars.

Review of Mikasa Lavender Lane 4-Piece Place Setting, Service for 1

The Mikasa Lavender Lane dinnerware set is an excellent set of everyday dishes that also works for dinner parties.

The colors and design are elegant and vibrant. The background white shimmers. The rectangular shape really works and is always good for a compliment from our guests.

The Mikasa rectangular serving platter is a very nice complement.

We have to wash our fine china by hand but this Mikasa place setting is both microwave and dishwasher safe. The fine china is likely to stay in the cabinet for all but the major holidays.

Review of Pfaltzgraff Beachcomber 16 pc Dinnerware Set Service for four.

I love the colors, but the set I received had several dinner plates that were painted a lot lighter blue than the others.I noticed there is a lot of inconsistency in the painting on the dinner plates.I've had them replaced and even the new ones have inconsistent painting. The rest of the set is fine, the bowls, cups and salad plates are beautiful.

Review of Fiesta 18-Ounce Jumbo Bowl

These bowls were everything I hoped they would be...they are a beautiful, bold red color

The bowls are about 4 1/2 inches across the top and almost 3 1/2 inches deep - so they hold a large serving of soup or chili.

I love the shape of the bowls - not too wide, but deep - something you can hold in one hand (easy to drink out of also!)

Review of Joseph Abboud Constellation Open Stock Dinner Plate

This is a great collection.We completely remodeled our kitchen and I searched for months for the "perfect" dishes to compliment it.The long search was well worth it.

The color pattern of the dishes is beautiful, the quality is excellent (also quite heavy) and the plates even have a slight lip to prevent drips etc.I ordered the place settings, large serving bowl and platter.

You won't be sorry!

This dinnerware set may be a little on the expensive side, but they are beautiful. Not only are they attractive, but are dishwasher, oven and microwave safe.

Review of Pfaltzgraff Aurora 32 pc dinnerware set. Service for 8.

I am very impressed with this dinnerware.It is sturdy yet very pleasing to the eye.Love the soft sage color and the pear and blossom accent.

I had had my last rubbermade butter dish for about 25 years. So when it finnally didn't make it through the wash: I bought this one for me. The last of the children have left for college.SoI bought this beautiful. well made. Cherry butter dish for me just. Because I wanted a red one. I serves all my needs for serving butter and it matches all of my red kitchen accessories. It is a beautiful( as well a practical) addition to my kitchen.

Review of Pfaltzgraff Winterberry Two-Tiered Server With 10 1/2-Inch And 8-Inch Plates And Gold Spacer With Handle

I just ordered this two-tiered server to add to my Winterberry collection.It is very pretty from a distance, but on close examination the gold-toned center post pieces are a very yellowish color and not nearly as attractive as the ones previously included with 2-tiered servers and candy dishes from Pfaltzgraff.The shape of the handle, being round, also does not match my older candy dish which is triangular and a much more subtle gold tone.

That being said, I do love the Winterberry pattern and intend to keep the server as it is festive-looking and a nice addition to my collection.The stoneware is manufactured in China now rather than the USA and there are slight color variations in glaze from the older USA pieces.The white background is more grayish in the newer piece and the green is a deeper, darker shade than the earlier USA made pieces.The quality has improved from the first Chinese pieces I purchased, and is still not up to the quality of the USA earlier pieces, but it still performs excellently as it always has.If you are new to this pattern and like it, I would not dissuade you from purchasing Winterberry and many people may prefer the updated, more modern-looking server handle.It looks delightful throughout the Winter season and I usually don't store it away until the end of February because it is just so cheerful.I am a pretty harsh critic when it comes to my stoneware, especially since it is fairly expensive, and I wanted to make other potential buyers aware of these things.

I hope this helps if you are looking to purchase this or another Pfaltzgraff Winterberry item.

Review of Kosta Boda Mine, Large Bowl

I bought the pink one with the intentions of buying the other colors at a later date so that I would have a set.I am so glad I only bought one. Disappointed that this bowl is listed as "Large" it was anything but. Note the dimensions when purchasing.The glass also looks dirty or dusty because of the tiny air bubbles that may or may not have been intentionally put in during the glass making process. I was constantly wiping it, thinking it was dusty.

i love the quality of the Signature Housewares dishes-but the color is a little off.Not what I expected.It is more of a soft blue, than the aqua/peacock/teal that it appears online. Review of Castlemere Glamour 5.5-Inch Wire Feeder with 2 - 7-Inch Pink Princess Bowls

I purchased this for my 38 pound Australian Shepherd and it's the perfect size bowls, I do however wish that the stand stood a little taller.
I also like this vs other pink heart bowls where as most of them have rhinestones that I would worry about falling off and my dog eatting it.
If your looking for something cute but not over the top, you aren't going to find anything better for this price.
