Review of Fiesta Plum 499 Rectangular Tray

This little tray is perfect for corn on the cob for both cooking and serving. The length is just right for most ears, and the indentations at the ends accommodate corn cob holders nicely. Also, the tray is shallow enough so that you can easily dredge the corn in any melted butter that collects in the bottom.

After shucking and cleaning the silk off the corn, place it on the tray with just a wee bit of water (a tablespoon or two will do) then cover tightly with plastic wrap and nuke it 5 minutes or so until tender. Use an oven mitt to hold the tray as you carefully remove the plastic wrap (the steam will be HOT) pour off the remaining water and serve.

In addition to corn on the cob, this tray can be used as a small relish tray, for cookies, cheeses, crackers, etc. It's use is limited only to your imagination.

I have a ton of Fiestaware including nearly every serving piece offered. I use it everyday and am always pleased with how well the pieces clean up, and how functional the pieces are.

My Fiestaware pieces are in Plum and I use them with placemats and napkins in many different colors and patterns, including the Fiestaware plaid. No matter which table linens I use, the Fiestaware always looks great weather the table is set for a simple everyday meal or a more elegant dinner.

Since I use it everyday, there have been times when I've accidently banged pieces together or on the sink. So far to my surprise and delight, none have chipped, cracked or broken.

This rectangular tray, as well as all Fiestaware, is functional, beautiful and durable.

My sister has lots of fancy bone china, the kind you're afraid to breathe on in fear it'll crack. Though it may be beautiful, I wouldn't trade a single piece of my Fiestaware for an entire set of fancy china!!
