Review of Villeroy & Boch Country Heritage Covered Butter Lid

The Villeroy & Boch covered butter dish lid is an item of beauty and understated elegance, but more importantly, it performs with the grace and competence of a third generation English butler. Its large size (3¾" x ~5") and gently softened rectangular lines mean that it gracefully covers one or two sticks of butter without undignified globs of butter scraping the sides of the lid. Its handle allows even the slippery hand of a child to grasp the lid firmly to remove it without a regrettable accident. The small raised leaves at the base of each side of the handle and the barely perceptible raised line traced along its edges add touches of beauty that gladden the soul.Heavy enough to be durable, but delicate enough to inspire respect, this butter dish lid would well meet with the approval of Ishiguro's Stevens.

Just remember, this is only the LID; the butter dish itself is sold separately.
