I love these little bowls!I first purchased my Antique White dinner ware at the Mikasa store, after the sales lady showed me how strong and chip resistant the everyday fine china was by banging them together (Hard).I just recently purchased the fruit bowls for ice cream, and yes fruit.I have also found them to be great for my kids, serving them kid sized potions of soup, salad, macaroni and cheese and just about anything else you can think of.The bowl are so great and go with the rest of my dinner ware I am thinking about getting rid of my bright plastic bowls for kids (why store something extra).I already use the bread and butter plates or salad plates for them instead of a huge dinner plates.

I'd been looking ALL over for a tea pot like this one. I love the transferware look,and Johnson Brothers is a very respected line of chinaware.

The shape is very traditional, and will go with any classic decor andyour real antiques. It makes a fine cup of tea, too. Just lovely. If you know someone who collects antiques or loves traditional English tea, this is a fantastic gift idea.

Review of Weir in Your Kitchen 6 1/2-Inch Tapas Plates

I have been researching new dishes for a very long time and decided to go with the Weir line from Pfaltzgraff for it's versatility and colors.The Wier line doesn't have a lot of the little extra coordinating pieces as many of their other pattern choices do.I purchased a complete table setting for 8 and mixed up the colors which come in Fennel (yellow), Chichory (Blue), and Cayenne (Red).The dishes are very well made and the yellow is more mustardy to me than bright yellow.If you are buying these to use as bread plates, as I did, keep in mind they are only 6 1/4", they are small.The inside of the dishes are a creamy color with a bit of speckling to it.Some pieces show more of this speckling than others.The color on the outside of the dishes is not a shiny color not satin - in seeing some of the pieces elsewhere on the internet I could not decide if these were a satiny type finish or a high glossy shine, they are more of a glossy shine.I have only had the dishes for a few days so I'll try to add to the review at a later date (if I remember!)But, so far I really like them.

This is a great basket!It's way bigger than I expected it to be, but that's a bonus, as I was initially concerned how much I'd be able to fit in there.As it is, I can definitely fit plenty of food, drinks, and a blanket.

It came with everything you need: (except a blanket, but you could always use the included tablecloth as a mini blanket), 2 sets of flatware (spoon, fork, knife), 2 matching napkins, 2 small clear plastic wine glasses, 2 plastic plates (mine are different from pictured, they just have a plain green border, not the stripes), a frosted glass mini salt & pepper shakers, wine bottle opener with foil knife, and a tablecloth.

Everything has it's own leather strapping to hold it securely and everything fits on either the flap doors or on the ends of the basket, leaving TONS of deep room in the basket.

I'm so excited to use this, and I'm planning my menu (fried chicken, potato salad, and fruit bars so far!).I also love that I can strap this onto the back rack of my bicycle and head to the beach or park for a mini 1-person picnic.

I bought this set because I was looking for a sake set that I can actually use--i.e. heat sake in the jar.What I got was mostly decorative piece that looked nice, to be sure, but was not really practical, because it was way too small.Also, heating sake in the jar appeared to damage it.

Overall, if you want a decorative piece, I think the set is fine; if you are looking for a set you can actually take out of the pretty wooden box and use, this is not.

This was my first set of chopsticks and I was really excited when they came since I've been experimenting with Asian cooking. I was worried the color wouldn't be the same as shown--I ordered the dark set--but they were just as naturally beautiful as they appear on the website. They wash very easily and I've used them many times since I purchased them. The rests are nice, too--they match wonderfully. Now, if only I could actually use them properly. This is an absolutely stunning placesetting - if it arrives in one piece.The pattern is lovely, and it has some great pieces you can buy separately to compliment it.I loved the setting the first time I saw it, and knew I wanted the complete set.But no matter how carefully packaged it was, it arrived with the little plate broken as often as it arrived in tact.I don't know if it arrived broken to the warehouses or if it was broken in transit to my house (although I am inclined toward the former because Amazon packed it more than sufficiently after my first few complaints).The good news is that Amazon will replace it for free or give you a refund if you return the damaged set.While I think this placesetting is beautiful enough that it is worth the extra hassle, others may not.

I love the Summer Breeze collection of Pfaltzgraff!I like that if something isn't available in this pattern that it also interchanges with the Melissa and Shelby patterns.These canisters are especially nice because they have sealed lids to keep food fresh. I'm so glad we cleared up some counter space by getting a microwave range for over the stove. Review of Mikasa Platinum Crown 5-Piece Place Setting, Service for 1

This china looks terrific.It's clean and elegant looking.The pieces are heavy and have a solid feel to them.The pieces are all dishwasher safe (although Mikasa cautions against it because of the platinum bands).And, for the Amazon price of $30 per placesetting, it's a terrific way to start a moderately priced set of china.The china easily looks like it would be two or three times the cost.

However, this set is not flawless.If you look close, you'll notice that the quality of the worksmanship is less than stellar.On about half the items in the placesetting, the crown bands do not line up at the seems.Although it's not terribly off-set, the seems are noticeable.

Also, the china itself has slight imperfections, such as dimples in the surface of the china.I bought about 8 placesettings, and there were a total of 7 pieces that had these tiny dimples (mostly in the tea cups).Now, these dimples are very small... about the size of a pin prick, and no deeper than 1 or 2 mm.However, they are imperfections.My guess is that this could be covered under Amazon's return/refund/exchange policy.

As for the quality, I'm guessing that a lot has to do with the fact that all of Mikasa's Platinum Crown pieces are made in Thailand.I'm not sure, but I'm guessing that the more expensive line of Mikasa's china (and stoneware) are made elsewhere.

Overall, I'm fairly pleased with the china.Yes, there are a few minor imperfections, but for the price, I can live with those.

Review of Lacquer Sashimi Serving Boat 17 in.

two main complaints
1) it seems there is a hole in the rear "cross" bar of the boat for a "sail" or other vertical piece... but no item comes in the box and there is no piece to order (see the 26" version for what the post/ sail should look like.This "missing" piece significantly reduces the beauty of the boat and therefore now looks like it has a missing piece
2) the vendor eKitron was VERY slow in shipping... I paid the extra cost for expedited shipping (cost ~$25) and they still took 7 days to ship! Review of Tablemate #TBL-PW2510 25CT 6" Scroll Plate

I am sorry to report that these items were packed poorly- in a padded envelope. They arrived with a number of the plates cracked. I am an after school art instructor- I needed these desperately so used the better ones for the project. Very disappointed. They definitely should have been packed in a cardboard box with adequate
packing material!
I didn't get my money's worth this time!

Review of Fiesta 574 Egg Plate

I love this plate. I ordered it in the Shamrock and it's an amazing color of green. It is also made so well, I love Fiesta ware. I like this much more than the egg plate that is shaped like an egg. This is more whimsical. It's also a large plate. It will definitely take up some serious table space...but I think it's worth it!

It holds 6 eggs (12 halves) and it really gives a fun presentation to deviled eggs!

There are little swirls in the egg indentations so when someone eats a half of egg, the plate still looks fun and hip. This is also a great plate to display because it's so fun looking. We leave ours out in our kitchen.

It comes in a bunch of other colors as well and with the holidays coming up,it's a must have! If you're planning on serving deviled eggs...this is the plate for you.

I purchased this piece in the now retired pearl gray color, and intended on using it as wall art in my kitchen. ( I use the retired colors and pieces as decoration so as not to ruin them. ) I then had a party where I needed an extra large tray, and the 15in platter served not only the food but the purpose as well.It held not only the fruit selections but the veggies and dips for both as well!When not in use as I said...consider using it for a wall hanging instead of a picture.....its colorful and it goes with the rest of the dishes in the kitchen.

Review of Mikasa Swiss Coffee Swiss Coffee Place Setting 4-pc.

My husband and I got 12 place settings from Bed Bath and Beyond for 19.99 a place setting for our every day uses.I personally really love these dishes.They feel nice and heavy.The colors seem some what off to me from various websites to the real thing.The center part is gray (maybe with a ever so slight blue hue--depending on your lighting) and the inside and bottoms are brown.There is a tan border line between the gray and brown.The brown part isn't glossy while the gray part is glossy.
We've had this set for about 3 months and haven't had any scratches or anything like that and they've gone through the dishwasher and microwave.I've even left plate of food in the oven to keep warm and they were perfectly safe.They also don't seem to get fry your hand off hot when you take them out of the microwave.We've had some other dishes in the past that needed a hot mitt to handle after getting out of the microwave--but not these.No chips or breaking yet.Well I take that back---one plate broke when our cabinet shelf collapsed which I'm thankful and surprised that only one plate broke. We've received many compliments on this set.I'm waiting on the matching veggie bowl and sugar bowls to arrive.They also have a cute matching tea pot.There are several replacement websites where you can get other pieces if you need to replace pieces.
Other reviewers on other websites say they don't like that the sets are consistent.I will say that each piece is slightly different in coloring and in the tan line thickness--so the pieces don't really match EXACTLY.It does not look like a mismatched college set, but looks more like each piece is handmade rather than perfect identical machine made. If you're looking for a 100% perfectly identical pieces then don't get this set.If you want to see this set in person, you might check a local Bed Bath and Beyond--one store had them in their bridal area on display but another didn't.

Review of Homer Laughlin China Fiesta Plum Teapot 44 Oz.

We love Fiesta and have been using it as our daily ware for years, but this teapot is one of a few Fiesta examples of form over function.The lines and design are classic Fiesta, but the function as a teapot is almost dangerous.The lid is ill-fitting and leaky, the impossible-to-hold handle gets hotter than the hinges of Hades, and the design engineer never gave this the final "dribble-test" in the field.It just doesn't work.Looks great on the shelf, but that's it.
