Review of Wilton Armetale William and Mary Small Round Bowl

Armetale is not made of silver and/or pewter as it says in this Amazon description. ARMETALE products are crafted from a non-toxic aluminum-based alloy. (Although they are made from an aluminum alloy, they are not light. They feel very solid and have some weight to them.) These pieces look like silver or pewter and that is why some retailers label them as such. Most Armetale pieces are safe for oven and freezer use. Hand-washing is recommended. Hand-washing these pieces are a breeze.

ARMETALE metal has been analyzed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and an independent third party laboratory and conforms to guidelines for the safe handling of food and beverages (from Wilton website).

ARMETALE products are also durable and will not crack, chip or dent under normal usage. Each ARMETALE product is a solid piece of metal with no coating applied (from Wilton website).

These pieces are collectible. I received my first piece as a wedding present.

Wilton produces hundreds of different items. Although I only buy the pieces made in the USA, many Wilton pieces are made in China. The rest are made in Mt. Joy Pa (the ones I own have a Mt. Joy mark on the bottom of each piece). All China made products will state on the box "Made in China". All China items are made of the same metal content as the USA made products. These products are tested (from Wilton website).
