Review of Emeril Professional 24-Piece Dinnerware Set, Service for 6, Adobe Clay

My finacee and I are very particular shoppers and spent FOUR HOURS picking out the perfect set.Price wasn't an issue, but we were lucky this was so affordable! We were looking for a bowl that we could actually eat cereal and salad in -- and basically nothing we found could accommodate actual food in it.We were also looking for something with a great coffee mug.Emeril dinnerware definitely delivered. It had HUGE bowls and HUGE mugs which were perfect. The Linen white was the right amount of plain for us to agree on.The quality is also wonderful -- its stoneware so its incredibly durable.A bit on the heavy side but its ok, not impossible to carry.I wish they had smaller plates to compliment the set, however. It gets hot when you put it in the oven for a while (it is stoneware, afterall), and when you put it in the microwave. Its wonderful overall and defintely worth it!

Review of Lenox Butterfly Meadow 18-Piece Dinnerware Set, Service for 6

Because of the discounts plural offered by Amazon, this is a good purchase. It's fun and the everyday flowers keep this from being too precious. The bugs are fantastic especially the fat bees. These dishes and cups feel very comfortable in the hand as does the matching rice bowl so I recommend this. Also, I think this would be a cheery gift to give to elderly women especially ones who don't like flowery twee patterns because new dishes are something that you tend not to get when you reach a certain age.

This is a much much better choice than plain white dishes which I would never do or a discounted snowflake set by Corelle. There is a non-Lenox brand (Homevisions)that is also offering a butterfly and flower pattern that is dippy looking.

Every piece is made in Indonesia.I read somewhere that the Corelle sets were mismatched because all but the cups were made together and the cups didn't match.I liked the idea of indestructible everyday dinnerware to match my indestructible restaurant pieces but reading deeper, I found that Corelle didn't promise such hardiness. This delicate looking Lenox set is lightweight and gentle on the lips but chip-proof enough for my purpose.

Is this frugal?no but I am happy I bought them and I use them everyday
Would I have purchased this used at a cheaper price off of craigslist?no
Did I shop around for the best total price including the manufacturer's website?yes and so should you
