Review of Ginkgo Bergen 45-Piece Flatware Set, Service for 8

We got this flatware along with our new dishes and are extremely happy with it.

As some of the other reviewers have mentioned these utensils are solid, you can feel it as soon as you pick them up. They have nice balance and they have strength (Neo would have a tough time bending this spoon).
The included serving utensils are just as nice and just as sturdy.

The brushed steel has a soft satin look and feel to it and the pieces are nicely shaped. I never really liked the intricate, grandma style flower patterns that my mom always had on her silverware, which makes me like these even more.

We use these every day and I have to say I feel a bit spoiled, while they wont be the most expensive pieces of flatware you ever use, I have gotten used to them and tend notice how flimsy most silverware is now.

They are simple, elegant, sturdy and worth the money.

Review of Ginkgo President 5PC Place Setting

Firstly, I bought these for a much lower price than what they are now, so I consider them a good value.If I had paid $20 a set..well, I just probably would not have paid that.

They are nice though.They have a very smooth finish that sheds water very well (nice when washing), and they are holding up well so far (not quite a year).They are not heavy duty strength or anything, but they are not cheap.Just don't use them in inappropriate ways.

Good qulity silverware for a reasonable price. After more than a year of daily use and frequent trips in the dishwasher, there is no rust or scratches . The finish is understated and elegantly smooth.It's easy to clean because there are no grooves or crevices where food gets trapped.
I've had lesser silverware that deforms (bends and then breaks), dents (creating an uneven or even jagged eating surface for your mouth), or simplycome new with sharp metallic edges.
This consistently performs as desired.

Review of Ginkgo Alsace 5-Piece Serving Set

This serving set fell below my expectations because the pieces are too small. I bought it mainly because of its tart server which turned out with a serving surface shorter than 2.5".If I had read the dimensions/descriptions more carefully before purchasing this set I would have noticed that it was a "tart server" and not a "cake server" (latter would be bigger).The pieces were also not of a good weight and didn't have the finish one would expect of this price.

We have been using it for a few months now & have had no problems washing it in the dishwasher.The design is very attractive, & the pieces have a solid feel -- not super heavy, but not flimsy like some inexpensive flatware.The size of the salad forks seems tinier than usual, but overall a great value for the price.

I absolutely love this pattern.It's mirrored finish is just beautiful, and I've not been able to find anything else like it.The problem is, though, that it rusts.I've had 18/10 flatware before, and have never had this rust problem.The knives seem to rust on the actual smooth part as well as the hammered handle, and the others will get it on the handles.I'm so bummed because I can't find another pattern like it anywhere.So I have to give it only 1 star because of the rust.

Review of Ginkgo Varberg 20-Piece Flatware Set, Service for 4

The first thing that impressed me about the Varberg stemware is the weight - it's solid and heavy in the hand. You'll also notice that the bowls on the spoons are a squared-off oval shape and the fork tines are longer and sleeker than usual. As a result, these pieces have a nice mouth-feel. These two unique design elements (combined with the high-polish finish) make this stemware look elegant, very classy and very expensive. They are appropriate for everyday use as well as when you want to set an elegant table.
Care: these are dishwasher safe but, as with all stainless, do not use a citrus dishwasher detergent or combine with silver or aluminum items. Also, you may see some scratches depending on your normal use (we tend to cut our meat by using a knife against the back of fork and have begun to see small scratches there from the knife blade). The Ginkgo website has a lot of useful tips on caring for stainless stemware.
Overall, I could not be happier with this product. The pattern is not that easy to find - other than Ginkgo's website, only a few retailers carry it - so if you see it, grab it!

Review of Ginkgo Norse 20-Piece Flatware Set, Service for 4

My husband and I registered for the Ginkgo Norse flatware on our wedding registry.We thought this set was very attractive--simple, heavy, smooth finish, and strong.I definitely gave it a good go on the hard ice cream test and it didn't bend.But after the first wash in the dishwasher we saw minimal rusting and pitting.Now after three months there are only a few pieces that are not rusting.You can get the rust spots out or nearly invisible by scrubbing with a scotch brite pad.Seriously, who wants to inspect their silverware that closely all the time?This isn't our fancy stuff; it's our every day stuff.But the stuff looks horrible just after a few washes.Our other stainless steel stuff is not rusting or pitting.We have a brand new high end dishwasher.However, we do have hard water.Regardless though I returned this set and have gone with J.A. Henckels 45pc Bellasera Flatware Set (off of Amazon for 60 dollars for 8pc + hostess set).It's gone through the same dishwasher with no problems.The Bellasera set is beautiful but totally different style (not as heavy but still strong and the knives are unique).However, Ginkgo Norse is 18/0 and the Bellasera is 18/10. This solidly-made, lovely set of flatware is weighty and elegant, equally at ease for serving breakfast and a gourmet dinner for The Queen. My only criticism is that the knives are, for me, too rounded at the blade end- I would have wished for a more pointed tip and perhaps a slightly better cuttting edge. Yet, all in all, this is a very useful and satisfying set of cutlery- I like it a lot.

Although my product was listed as in stock, part of it was not, and now I have to wait a month for remainder of my order.The in stock part was also shipped later than expected, and only after I reminded them they hadn't shipped it yet.The worse part though was this set is 18/0,and NOT the promised 18/10 stainless steel stated multiple times in this descriptionI feel duped now!!!AND I'm still waiting for part of my order!Urrrghh!!!
