First of all, I looked for these plates everywhere online and Amazon had the best deal on them for $59.99 a set and free shipping.I ordered 3 sets and even with the Super Saver shipping I received them in a couple of days.Out of the 48 pieces I ordered, only 2 arrived broken.Two of my mugs arrived with broken handles.The mugs are porcelain, not Vitrelle like the rest of the set, and are therefore more fragile.I am very happy with the looks of my new dinneware.The bowls and mugs are larger than most that come with a set.The plates are also big; we have been using the lunch plates most of the time since the dinner plates are pretty oversized.I didn't pursue replacing the brokem mugs since I don't really need 12 anyway but Corelle does have a warrenty on the product for a year.Overall I am happy with the set - great price and you get the durable, light pieces Corelle is known for with a stylish look that I woulndn't have expected from this brand.

This listing fails to mention that these dishes are from the Ultra line which are significantly thicker and heavier than just the normal square dishes Corelle has recently released.This is fabulous because I was concerned that the old Corelle I remember is a bit thin. These carry a 5-year warranty vs. the regular 3-yr.

This pattern is more beautiful in person; the leaves have a great texture to them. The pattern is softer and less "limey" in person (in a good way). Don't shy away from Corelle because they aren't known for style (I almost did). The durability and beauty of these dishes are unmatched in my opinion.Purchased two sets for special occassion dinners and everyday use.

These dishes are great.
I am going for another set.
It is one way to get a square meal every day. :-)
I have owned corelle for the past 40 plus years and won't buy anything else.
I have had a set for the last 20 years and not one has broken.
I just got tired of looking at the same plates and the "pretty in pink" are just beautiful.
I am 77 yrs. old but I think young.
BTW, Amazon is the best to deal with.

When the plates arrived, I almost expected something to be
broken but everything came in good condition.
I bought two sets for our family of 5.
Here's the breakdown of the charge.

I noticed right away that the designs on the
plate seemed very faded and not as bright/detailed as
the design shown on the description photo.

I was a little dissappointed but we decided to keep the sets.
The square design is very nice and I like the
thickness of the mugs.A little strange drinking
from a square shaped mug but no one seems to mind too much.

The plates are also very sturdy.
I had dropped one in the sink and it surprisingly did not break.

It's a good purchase for the price I paid ($59.49 per set)
but I wouldn't purchase these for the full price of $79.99.

These are a nice size and the shape is also nice--has a smaller footprint than the round plates if you are cramped for cupboard space. They are made of the traditional thin Corelle material and are a more "shallow" plate--like the traditional Corelle plain white dishes.

If you like the square shape and want a Corelle set that is a little fancier in solid white that will dress up for formal occasions, you may want to consider the award winning Corelle Scandia White in Corelle's Ultra line.The Scandia White pattern has a fancier mold and the plates are a little deeper and thicker than this set.

The major difference in the Ultra line and this set is the Ultras are 70% thicker than the traditional Corelle and have three layers of "glass" on the finish instead of the one layer on this set--The Ultras have a glossier finish--elegant--and a little more weight.You can gather more info on the Ultra line at corelle.com

These are nice, but for the same price at Walmart, you can have the square Ultras.

I spoke with a Corelle rep on the phone and asked her about the difference between this set and the Scandia White set.She said she owns BOTH sets, but is planning to give her set like this away and only keep the new Scandia White set.

The local Walmart did not carry the Scandia White Ultra, but carries several other Ultra square patterns. They also do not identify them as Ultra, but they are Ultra.

Corelle has introduced serving pieces in the past month in the Corelle material that match this set. The matching pieces for the Scandia White pattern are made of stoneware.

This set will give YEARS of service and may be preferable for someone looking for lighter weight dinnerware. The lighter weight may be easier for children and elderly hands to carry and handle.This is a GREAT everyday pattern.

I bought this to replace a set of Corelle dinnerware we've had over 15 years.The old set start getting gray and streaky as if the years of utensils against the surface in daily use finally took a toll.When I decided to replace that set, I had no doubt that it would be with another set of Corelle.It is lightweight, dishwasher and microwave safe, is thin enough to not stack too high in the cabinet, and it stays nice looking even with heavy use.

This set arrived well packed, the Corelle box and bubble packing inside another box, and everything was intact.The plates are really big!We will probably end up using the lunch plates as dinner plates sometimes.The bowls also have a very large capacity, easily two cups.

One main difference between this set and my old one is the coffee cups are not the same material as the dishes... they used to be made of the same 'vitrelle' and now are porcelain.I like the new ones better; they have a little more heft and keep my coffee warmer longer, and they are more elegant than our regular old unmatched mugs.

I love the squared shape of all the pieces, even the cups are a bit square.Perhaps it is because of the shape that the pieces all seem to have so much capacity.I like this pattern, Simple Lines, because it is a simple contemporary desigh.If I have one complaint it would be that the lines don't look solid and dark on the plates; in places the lines look like chalk stripes.
