This china is so gorgeous! No wimpy colors here, the blues & purple are bright & beautiful. It is too good to just sit in the china cabinet; it makes every cup of tea, coffee or eggnog a delight.Enjoying it is one way of being mindful, present and grateful.I have had this china for about 15 years and just never grow tired of it.The gold edges have not worn out.I do follow the manufacturer's washing instructions exactly, so I'm sure that makes a difference.(Hand wash these dishes for long-term enjoyment). There was a time that the pattern was discontinued, but it is back in production so thankfully, there are no worries about replacing broken dishes. We have only had one break; it helps that we are careful. We have not had problems with knife marks on the plates.I should note that I do not serve anything that is difficult to cut on these, though.I'm just not brave enough!Yes, we'll eat chicken on them, but not t-bone. So, even after 15 years of frequent use, I would still use this china for the most distinguished visitor. If you know the pope, president, somebody.... ?Send 'em over!
